Activities Coordinator- Therapeutic (Shoreline)

The Activities Coordinator is an integral member of the treatment team and serves to ensure the development, organization, and coordination of facility and community resources to provide comprehensive therapeutic recreation services and programs to meet the needs and interests of each resident. The Activities Coordinator reports to the Program Administrator and works with the Clinical and Social Work Teams to execute the responsibilities of this position. The incumbent must be able to exercise sound discretion and judgment to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of this position. Major responsibilities include but are not limited to: Developing, coordinating, and managing Plan Recreation Services for residents; Training and educating staff and parents; Participating in interdisciplinary care-plan meetings; Assisting with organization and development of a Resident’s Council. Promoting and maintaining safe environments for residents, employees, and visitors; Fostering positive relationships with residents, visitors, regulators, and employees; Maintaining documentation to meet reporting and licensing requirements; and, Ensuring communication of planned events and activities.
Minimum Qualification:
To be considered for this role, you must meet at least one of these:
Be certified (or eligible for certification) as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activities Professional
Have 2+ years of experience in recreation or social programs within the last 5 years (1 year must be in a healthcare setting, FT in a patient activities program)
Be a licensed occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant
Additional Requirements:
Required vaccines (COVID-19, Flu, Tdap, TB Testing)
Able to pass and maintain an acceptable background history, references, & Fingerprint Background Clearance
Valid WA driver’s license and clean driving record
BLS CPR, and Food Handler’s Permit
Physically able to carry out job duties (active, hands-on role)
Must be dependable, professional, and able to make sound decisions
Willing to work on-site and drive for outings and events
Experience in recreational therapy, child life, education, or a related field
Creativity, patience, and a deep sense of empathy
This full-time Activities Coordinator position comes market competitive compensation, including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Dis., HRA., Matching 403b7, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, and Extended Illness Leave. Salary ranges from $66,861.00 to $86, 033.00 based on prior experience and education.
